The Call of Moses

"God was calling Moses. With hindsight, we can see the process, but at that time, as events unfolded, it must have seemed to the young prince that he was experiencing was a sequence of personal disasters. Certainly, there is no suggestion that he, or anyone else, saw the hand of God at work in what was happening to him.

It is often hard to believe in the purposes of god, especially from our own perspective things simply seem to be falling apart. Yet all of this, the bulrushes, the palace, the fight with the taskmaster, the flight to the desert- was the raw material of the call of Moses. Each of these experiences, refined and worked at by the Spirit of God, would make him the person God could use."
